About Sarah

Hello everyone, I’m Sarah.

I’m a tattoo artist and art teacher from Ottawa, Ontario. I’ve been tattooing since 2010 and practicing art in various forms for as long as I can remember.

My art journey begins as a little kid, when I spent a great deal of time drawing, colouring, sculpting and writing. I was fascinated by animals, nature and comic books. I was lucky enough to receive training early on from a number of wonderful art teachers, including those who specialized in Canadian wildlife art.

I also had a keen interest in working with animals. I always had pets (and still do!). I spent a lot of time volunteering in animal shelters. Later, I went to school to become a veterinary technician and worked in this field for several years.

Soon after this I felt the urge to transition my professional life to art full-time. I underwent the intense, difficult process of learning to tattoo. I met a lot of interesting people along the way and had the privilege to work alongside many talented artists. After many years of practice, I opened my own private studio from which I do my work today: tattooing, teaching, and creating my graphic novel Starseeds of Rhyn.

I take my position as a tattoo artist very seriously. Tattoos can often carry with them a great deal of personal meaning and symbolism, whether they be expression of who you are, a celebration or commemoration of a loved one, or a rite of passage.  Whether your tattoo is an expression of your journey or simply another piece of art to add to your collection, it is my honour to hold space for your experience as well as bring your ideas to life in a safe, welcoming environment.
